WIBF Speakers Clubs

Two Toastmasters Clubs for Women in Banking and Finance

What is Toastmasters?

Toastmasters is an internationally recognised club which aims: "to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn fosters self-confidence and personal growth"

WIBFS - What are the benefits to members?

  • Learn to think and speak on your feet, through impromptu speaking
  • Learn to prepare and deliver effective presentations
  • Learn to provide constructive and structured feedback
  • Learn to successfully lead and energise meetings
  • Networking
  • Practice and learn in a 'safe' and supportive environment
  • Build self confidence when communicating in all areas of your life

Who can join?

It is a pre-requisite of WIBF Speakers (WIBFS) that you are also a member of Women in Banking and Finance www.wibf.org.uk. Members must commit to attending regularly, be prepared to take on any appropriate role and to provide suitable notice if they cannot attend. We encourage prospective members to visit twice prior to joining.

Where and how often does WIBFS meet?

The Canary Wharf club meets at Credit Suisse, One Cabot Square, Canary Wharf and the City club meets at RBS, City of London. Each club meets fortnightly on Wednesdays at 17:45 for an 18:00 start – each club’s meetings are scheduled to alternate with the other club’s meetings.

The meeting lasts two hours. We are delighted to welcome guests at no charge and guests are not obliged to speak at the meeting, although they are normally asked to introduce themselves. For security reasons, visits must be made by prior arrangement with a club member - see the contact details below.
