Hackney Marshes User Group Programme

      
Activities take place at the Tree Nursery unless otherwise stated. The Tree Nursery is next to the south car park on Homerton Road. VIEW MAP. Buses W15 and 308 stop on Homerton Road. Buses 236 and 276 stop near Kingsmead Estate - a short walk along Homerton Road.
There are regular sessions (SEE TIMETABLE) and we also hold special events. Regular sessions are FREE and everyone is welcome. Training,
gloves, all equipment and refreshments are provided. Wear strong footwear and suitable
clothing.

Tree Musketeers Tree Watering May 23rd (Sunday) - Hackney Downs. Meet 10.30am central circle. Joint meeting with Hackney Downs User Group.
June 4th (Sunday) - Hackney

User Group. May include other tree maintenance.
June 6th (Sunday) Tree Musketeers’ day out to Kew Gardens. For fun and tree spotting. Detailed arrangements to be made as North London line not fully in operation so travel by Tube, or some other way. Meet 10am for early start due to travel time, perhaps at Hackney Central or Dalston station. Please let Eugene know if you want to go, and for details; 020 8985 5008.
June 8th (Tuesday) Environmental day on Hackney Marsh Clearing

Jubilee Wood. 9am to 4:30pm. Free As part of
Environment Week, Skanska volunteers will be carrying out environmental
work on Hackney Marsh and the Tree Nursery, with HMUG and Hackney Parks
Dept. Come for as
long or short a time as you wish. All are

The Hackney Marsh car park at Homerton Road is closed to vehicles, but there is pedestrian access to the Tree Nursery. Woodcrafty is a social enterprise that works to improve the confidence and practical skills of both children and adults through working creatively with green, coppiced and recycled wood. Projects have included the use of coppiced hazel to build geodesic domes and yurts with children and adults. Woodcrafty have a bodging site in Abney Park Cemetery and are currently running free green woodworking introductory sessions.
