1. The Olympic Precinct in Lower Lea Valley.
The Olympic Precinct will cover an area including East Marsh, Eastway Sports Centre and
Cycle Circuit, and from A12 in the north (Hackney and Waltham Forest) to Stratford High
Street in the south (Newham). It will include Old River Lea and Lea Navigation.
Old River Lea.
The Olympics Precinct is made up of: businesses which will have to move out of the Lower Lea Valley, brownfield sites, nature reserves, open water and banks of the river and canal which are important migration routes for birds, as well as cycle and pedestrian routes.
The Olympic Precinct will consist of:
Main Stadium between Bow Back Rivers- now businesses and railway land.
Railway as its passes over City Mills River. Olympics concourse will cross the railway. Main stadium to the right.

Aquatics Centre will be built on Carpenters Road, on site of fridge mountain cleared over the last year.
The site of the Media and International Broadcasting Centre have been moved several times. They (and their transport mall) are to go between Waterden Road and Lea Navigation, on what is now the open space of Arena Field and the trees and wildlife habitat along Lea Navigation.
Hockey is to go between Waterden Road and Old River Lea, on Travellers site.

There ia a map of the Olympics area in Hackney which can be seen by following the link on Olympics Home Page.
Arena Field (below) will be lost to media and broadcasting facilities and their car park.

A loop road taking traffic including heavy construction vehicles will run round the edge of the Olympics Precinct.
In Hackney it will run close to Lea Navigation and Wick Village and destroy the trees along the edge of Arena Field, as in the following photograph.

Fencing all round the site 5m metres in height.
Land bridges across rivers, roads and railways. In Hackney a massive land bridge will link East Marsh to Olympics Precinct, high over A12 and Waterden Road. It means the permanent loss of part of East Marsh and will destroy the row of mature ash trees along Ruckholt Road.
Coach and car parks at East Marsh, (now sports pitches and mature trees), and Stratford High Street (now businesses).
