Open Dalston is also dealing with the Broadway Market sell-off. That organisation would be a good connection to make for those concerned with both Olympic issues and other planning illegalities especially in Cazenove Ward. Scrap Stoke Newington Gyratory - Restore the Common - Transport for London is considering getting rid of the one-way gyratory that cuts people off from the common and blights High Street shopping. (CAAG also maintains information on this campaign HERE) Hackney Environment Forum Well Street Common Users Group London Fields User Group Friends of Claption Cinematograph Theatre aims to preserve and restore the historic cinema at 229 Lower Clapton Road, E5 (ex-Dougie's Nightclub) and bring it back into use for the benefit of the people of Hackney Save The Swan - Help us save our local.  The Stamford Hill area doesn't have many pubs, and The Swan is a vital part of the community for many. All that is at risk, thanks to the planned buyout, to turn it into a synagogue and meeting rooms for one of the Jewish communities in the area.

Walking TfL have created a ring of walks across London.  The Capital Ring passes straight through our ward linking Abney Park Cemetry to Springfield Park: , up Kyverdale Road, Filey Avenue and Oldhill Street. See the TfL descriptions of these walks here: Capital Ring Section 12: Highgate to Stoke Newington Capital Ring Section 13: Stoke Newington to Hackney Wick On Wednesday 21st September 2005 (the Day before Car-Free Day/In Town Without My Car) there's a "Do" to mark the completion of the Capital Ring, at Highgate, with 6 walks feeding in to the ceremony at 4pm. One of them starts from Hackney Wick station at 10.45am, presumably trailing the Ring Walks 13 and 12.
